1988 Yamaha SG-3000 in Black Metallic Sparkle
with Gig Bag
$2,280.00
I really think that out of all the electric guitars ever made in Japan, stretching back to the 1960s, the
Yamaha SG-3000 model would be in the top 10 of the best. It ranks in my top 5 for tone, in the top 5
for playability and feel and in the top 10 for its unique look. Santana uses Yamaha models similar to this
often and all you have to do is listen to the old version of "Evil Ways" and you'd hear the tone this guitar
has. But, if you toggle the push/pull knob on either pickup, you can turn either into a single-coil pickup,
which is called coil-tapping. The electronics are heavy and solid and you get incredible sustain from the
metal plate installed in the center of the body under the bridge. It's an amazing guitar, has an ebony
fretboard smoother than any other guitar I've played, just sings, and can inspire any player to push their
own musical boundaries. Not many guitars can claim all this. Kudos to Yamaha for thinking this one up!
